Abnormal weather

What is abnormal weather? The World Meteorological Organization defines “Average temperature and precipitation incline more remarkably than a normal year. Moreover, the deviation happens only once in 25 years or more” as abnormal weather. So El Nino is not abnormal weather. It may cause abnormal weather. However, since El Nino happens with the cycle of several years, it is not abnormal weather. And, the abnormal weather report of the Meteorological Agency defines it also as "the phenomenon which is a phenomenon which it separated greatly from the phenomenon experienced in the past, and people rarely experience between lifetimes."

However, I think that the word "abnormal weather" does not remain only in it. It is because we also call global warming or destruction of nature, abnormal weather.

Let`s see some of phenomena called abnormal weather.

1.    Lightning

【Meaning】Lightning means the sparks which flash by electric discharge of atmospheric electricity.

 Lightning is called “inazuma” in Japanese. It comes from "the wife of a rice plant." From ancient times, since the fruition time of a rice plant had much thunder, there was faith that thunder fruited a rice plant. So, it has a word “ine” (=a rice plant) and “tsuma” (=the wife). It got used and it became “inazuma”.

 The difference between lightning and thunder is whether light or sound.

 There was abnormal weather which lightning and thunder continued 30 minutes or more. First of all, thunder is increasing. The number of the casualties by thunderbolt is also increasing every year. This is abnormal.

 2.    Global warming

【 Meaning 】The average temperature of the earth should rise. They are serious global environment problems.

 Many of us think "since average temperature rises, antarctic ice melts and a sea surface goes up." However, it is not only it. "The global average of average yearly temperature" rises. We are anxious about the influence on the serious climate change like a rain pattern and a weather change pattern changing in connection with it, or the frequency of abnormal weather going up. "Differing from former" is a problem. It will become impossible for former to have been possible. So, we will have to change all systems and views. Because old common sense will be reversed.

 I will mention concretely the problem caused by global warming.

 ・A territory is lost because a sea surface water level goes up. Danger of submersion.

・The increase of abnormal weather in a heavy rain, a drought, etc.

 ・Influence on an ecosystem, reduction of a precious gene.

 ・Advance of desertification by the deforestation or abnormal weather.

 ・Influence on water resources, generating of a water shortage.

 ・The increases in the onset of tropical infection ( for example cholera.)

 ・The fall of the cereal production by temperature rise. Food shortage problem.

・The energy scarcity by the increase in consumption energies, such as air conditioning by high temperature.

These things happen. The progress of global warming damage to our life. Since global warming can not be seen by eyes, it may be hard for us to understand. But it is clear that it has been a prospective more serious problem.

The climate change has happened in connection with abnormal weather. I think that I will see in detail in the next report about a climate change.
